NYC Diesel by Soma Seeds is a feminized strain that, just like its name says, is from New York. A friend of Soma’s brought him some seeds from NYC and told him it was the best weed he’d ever smoked. This strain combines a Mexican sativa with an Afghan plant, resulting in an average-sized plant with a strong, weather-resistant structure. It can be grown both indoors and outdoors, and it’s known for being an extremely exotic plant; it’s won second place in the High Times Cannabis Cup for best sativa in 2001, 2003 and 2004.
Indoors these plants adapt quite nicely to their surroundings. They won’t grow over a meter tall, allowing you to grow them freely without worrying about any light burns. With about 12 plants per square meter you can get a decent 300g under a decent grow light; after about 11 flowering weeks you’ll be able to reap your reward.
Grown outdoors, NYC Diesel grows much stronger than indoors, reaching over 2m tall easily. As long as it gets plenty of sun and a well-prepared substrate to grow in, it should grow to the best of its abilities. It does well in mild areas but it can also put up with a bit of cold every now and then. Thanks to its resistance to cold temperatures and airy buds, it’s not very likely to be infected by fungi.
This strain has quite an interesting flavor, as it’s similar to red grapefruit in both taste and aroma. It gives quite an energetic effect which is perfect if you plan on going out with friends or doing something that involves imagination.
