The Original Haze

The Original Haze regular by Flying Dutchmen is one of the few commercial strains you can find today. Many other strains available on the market contain this ancestral plant in their genetic makeup since the resulting hybrids have inherited the potency of the original Haze. This plant has been stabilized for decades until getting a perfect plant for selection and hybridization of other strains. If you intend to do a commercial crop of get a lot of production, this is not the right plant. On the other hand, if what you're looking for is a powerful plant to develop your own genetics, starting with a landrace like this is certainly the best option. It's a very pure sativa, about 90% and leads to very slender specimens. Buds aren't as large or compact as what is usually found these days, but it compensates this with power and flavour. This is a little productive strain with great quality with regard to flavor and strength.

It's not very recommendable for the indoors, since it's high percentage of sativa makes it a late flowering plant. It can take 4 months or more to be ready for harvesting with the lamp set at 12h. Besides, since it's not very productive and generates a larger internodal distance, it won't generate long colas. However, colas will be extremely resinous. If we decide to plant it indoors we recommend using techniques that maximize production and keep the size under control. A SCRoG is a good option since it'll allow us to manage the size and get a bigger yield per specimen. Setting our plants to flower under the lamps will result in very smelly and resinous plants, with great flavor and potency. If we want to use The Original Haze in our crosses, it's a perfect option since we'll be able to keep it in our grow tents for a long time as a mother, as long as we can manage its growth.

This plant releases all its potential in the open air, although we'll have to wait until November to harvest it. By planting it directly in the ground, without worrying it about its final dimension, we'll get a considerable production. It like warm climates but not excessively hot. A tropical climate like the one in the Canary Islands would be perfect for it. It adapts very easily to growing areas such as the Mediterranean coast as long as we have abundant irrigation water available. Little care and appropriate pruning can give us much more productive specimens. Its flavour improves when planted outdoors, bringing you back to the 70s.

The flavor and smell of this strain are already classics and can be recognized in many hybrids currently available on the market. The flavor is earthy, like pinetree with spices. It's quite a marked taste and will stay in the palate for some minutes

The effect is very powerful and typical of sativa, i.e., exhilarating, intense and cerebral. It's not a suitable plant for resisting but it's perfect to have a good time with your friends.
