More product information
Growing on rockwool slabs is quite productive but we cannot move our plants for their better development. Now with Mapito we have the advantages of rockwool grow, root oxygenations, safe automatic watering and productions on hydro, but growing on pots that we can move for an optimal configuration of the garden by moving the plants so that they do not disturb one another due to their height.
Growing on Mapito is very comfortable but like almost all grow mediums we have to prepare it before use. We must wash it with distilled or osmosis water of low EC in order to remove impurities. After 24 hours in the water we will check it and if its EC is very high, we will have to wash it again and change the water.
If its EC is lower than 0.3 we can now regulate its pH. We will prepare another bucket with distilled or osmosis water with 5.5 pH and leave it for 24 additional hours. After this time passes we will just have to drain it a little with our hands and fill our pots.
We must not press it too much since when it is soaked it compacts pretty much and if we press it once it is drained, when it gets wet it will become very dense. When our pots are full we will activate the watering to see if the mapito sinks; if it does not, it means that it is ready to plant our plants; if it sinks we just have to add a little more until covering the pot.
We will plant our plants as if they were on the land, at the right depth. We will have to use special fertilizers for hydroponics.
