Vermiculite nr.2 has different uses in the cultivation of marihuana. It is sort of expanded clay but not so hard that retains water up to 5 times its weight; therefore, if we add some vermiculite, it will be no problem to moist peats again –e.g. Canna Terra Professional- that are difficult to wet after they get dry. Other substrates that absorb better, as All-Mix by Biobizz, many not need to add them since they retain moisture far more.
If you mix it with soil do not exceed 5% the pot volume or you may have serious problems of humidity in the substrate, water excess and root rottenness due to a lack of oxygen; therefore, tucultivo.net recommends 2%.
Vermiculite nr.2 is also very much used in hydroponic systems as an inert substrate and similarly to the use of clay pebbles. This product is available in 7l bags or 100l sacks.
